Hero Points are used to ‘buy’ every detail. In this pages you’ll find everything you need to build a fully custom character. If you have an idea that isn’t listed, just work with your GM to add new bits.
Create your custom character following the steps below.
Creating customized spells and equipment is a learned skill as a player, so don’t be surprised if it takes some time and attention. This is where the hero point system truly shines with a little ingenuity and a clear character concept to guide your decisions.
Character Creation
Each Character and Companion starts with the following Cards:
- 1 Character Details Card.
- 5 Health Cards and 3 Energy Cards.
- 2 copies of each Generic Action Cards (Movement or Skill and Encore).
- 1 set of Rations (they should last you for a week).
- Learn 1 Rune of your choice. (Once learned, a Rune can be reused any number of times.)
New Campaign — All Characters start (usually) with 20 hero points to spend on their build.
Remember that each of the following step is OPTIONAL, you can also create a blank character with 20 points yet-to-spend.
- Choose Flaw(s)
- Choose Your Core Ability
- Add Points in Skills
- Buy Basic Equipment, to survive in battle
- Learn Basic Spells
- Buy common Items, including Rations to not starve to death
- Create and Customize Spells
- Customize your Equipment and Gear
- Buy and Customize, or Scratch-Build a Companion
- Choose Your Lineage (Ask you GM for the Campaign’s Settings and Lineages)
